American Topical Association (ATA)

The American Topical Association (ATA) serves members in 65 countries. It is the largest philatelic society devoted to this specific area of stamp collecting. Organized in 1949, the ATA has over 56 years of service to its members. It is the best source of information, fellowship and authority in the topical stamp collecting field.

“The ADPS Stamp Dealers Society is a UK based society formed in 1966 for the benefit of both full and part-time dealers worldwide.

The Society requires all members to abide by a strict code of ethics. Collectors can therefore have confidence when dealing with ADPS members. This, in turn, can lead to increased business for members.

For a modest annual subscription, members can also use the ADPS logo and other society services such as help in dealing with or avoiding ‘problem’ clients. Members also receive our magazine “The Bulletin” and our Newsletter on alternate months.

The Society is run by a Committee with a Chairman, Secretary, Confidential List Officer, Webmaster and other members.”

These initials in an advertisement or on a letter heading signify membership of the Society, which provides various services for approval dealers.

Association of Scottish Philatelic Societies (ASPS)

The history of the Association of Scottish Philatelic Societies stretches back to the first joint meetings of societies in Scotland in 1924.

The Council of the Association
The Council of the Association consists of one delegate appointed by each member society of the Association. In addition, the Office Bearers (who need not be society delegates) of the Association attend Council meetings. However, only the delegates have a vote.

Council Meetings
Ordinary Council Meetings take place twice yearly, usually in October and January. In addition the AGM of the Association is held in April at the annual Scottish Congress
