Stamps of Greece: Aspioti-Elka, Printers

Aspioti-Elka are Greek security printers who first began operating in 1911. The company produced the Iris and Hermes series, recess printed from dies engraved by Thomas Macdonald in London. Their subsidiary in Corfu released general issues of Epirus in 1914, depicting soldier and flag designs. Most of the Greek stamps produced since 1933 have been printed by Aspioti-Elka and all but one of the Cyprus issues released from 1962 onwards have been lithographed by them in Athens.
