In early January, the Post Office issued a set of stamps to commemorate favourite children’s TV characters through the decades. Starting with Andy Pandy in the 50s all the way through to Shaun the Sheep, this was a great chance to wallow in the nostalgia of your own children’s TV era.
Disney topical collectors have it easier than most. They do not have to use a magnifier to see if that little speck beside the barn on a stamp is a cat or not. They do not have to decide if the post horn in the Europa symbol belongs in the music col1ection, and rarely do they have to break a set to get the one stamp they need for their topic.
The Disneyana on Stamps Society (DoSS) has just been certified as a Study Unit of the American Topical Association (ATA). Bruce L. Johnson, Director of Study Units for ATA, made the announcement in early January. The Disneyana on Stamps Society is the 90th study unit affiliated with the Association during its 62-year history. Currently there are 48 units actively affiliated with the ATA.
