The Rossiter Trust is a charitable trust devoted to the study of Postal History. Stuart Rossiter was a leading postal historian who felt that as much research should be devoted to the rapidly changing affairs of the twentieth century, as to those which have passed. It was for the encouragement of research and of publication that he wished his resources to be devoted.

The principal objectives of the Trust, established in 1985 is to promote research into the history of the postal services and to support postal history books and publications in this area of study.

The Trustees invite applications for funding from anyone, whether professional or amateur, with an iinterest in conducting original research into the history of written communications with a view to publishing their findings.

The Trustees have organised annual Lectures in Stuart’s memory, and most lectures have been followed by a book or monograph connected with the subject of the lecture.

The Trustees also see the need for a Resource Centre where facilities can be offered to studentsof written communications. If you would like to help achieve this objective, the Trustees would welcome your donations, whether in kind, in cash or as a legacy.
