We tend to think of wildlife protection as being a fairly contemporary phenomenon. But here are two early fine stamps, issued May 2, 1955, by French West Africa for the International Wildlife Protection Exhibition in Paris that month.
This 40 kopeks orange-red and violet-blue stamp issued on June 17, 1960 commemorated the launching of Cosmic Rocket Spacecraft 1 “Vostok”.

Each year since 1957 Australia has issued Christmas stamps to facilitate the mailing of greeting cards to inland addresses, sometimes at a reduced postage rate. In later years there have been higher values in the series to cover postage rates to other destinations.
