The Canadian Forces Philatelic Society (CFPS) was formed in 1975 for stamp collectors who are members of the Canadian Forces, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Department of National Defence civil servants, and their families. Membership is also open to retired members of these organizations and to serving or retired members of the armed forces of other NATO countries. An Associate membership is available to those who do not meet the eligibility criteria.
The Society is administered by two Directors and an elected executive of four: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. Activities of the Society operate primarily through the mail to individual members.
