Roulette

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008 | Stumble | Digg | Del.icio.us | Technorati | Blinklist | reddit

The small cuts or holes made at regular intervals to assist in separation. Unlike perforation, no paper is removed in rouletting. There are various patterns of knife cut: simple short cut in straight lines: cuts at angles to one another, cuts in the shape of crosses etc.

Each one produces a different shape to the teeth at the edge of the stamp after separation (see Percé).
