Australia air 1929
The design shows a De haviland biplane over a flock of merino sheep with eucalyptus treees at the sides.
The stamp was issued to cover air mail charges on the Perth to Adelaide airmail service established in 1929.
The plane shown on the stamp is identical to those issued on the service.
The design was prepared by R.A. Harrison in conjunction with Harold Herbert.

Quantities: 3,720,560, of which approximately 180,000 were punctured ‘O.S’.

Note: There aree two types of the 1929 issue:
Type A, size 31 x 222m; Tpe B, size 31 3/4 x 21 1/2 mm.
Type B is scarcer than Type A, and is worth approximately twice as much.
