The joint issue between the Principality of Monaco and the Russian Federation focuses on automobile manufacturing. The stamp of Monaco depicts the “Sunbeam Alpine” which was driven by Grace Kelly in the 1955 movie To Catch a Thief. This automobile is part of the Private Collection of Antiques Cars of H.S.H. the Prince of Monaco. It is displayed at the Monaco Top Cars Collection museum. The Russian stamp features the “ZIL-111V” limousine which was used to transport Nikita Khrushchev for his official trips.
It has also been used to ferry Yuri Gagarin from the airport to the Red Square following his historic flight as the first man in space in 1961.
